Quick answers drawn from our Help & Contact guide. Still stuck? Speak to us.
How do I measure for a mirror or glass panel?
Measure the width in three places (top, middle and bottom) and the height in three places (left, centre and right). Give us the smallest measurement in each direction, in millimetres, width first, then height. Full measuring guide.
Should I deduct a fitting tolerance for a recess or alcove?
No. Tell us the opening size and we will apply the appropriate tolerance. If you deduct it yourself as well, the piece is reduced twice and arrives undersized.
How do I measure a replacement tabletop?
Measure the existing top rather than the frame beneath it if the original overhangs. For circles, measure the full diameter across the widest point. For ovals, we need both the length and the width.
What if my piece has curves, notches or cut-outs?
Anything with a curve, an angle, a notch or a cut-out is best supplied as a template. Card or hardboard cut to the exact finished shape works well, marked clearly with which face is the front. If you’d rather we came to you, we offer site surveys across much of the UK.
Can toughened glass be cut or drilled after it’s made?
No. Once glass has been toughened, it cannot subsequently be cut, drilled or altered, so we carefully check bespoke dimensions and specifications before manufacture begins.
Can I fit it myself?
Most of our mirrors and glass panels can be fitted by a competent DIYer or a general trade. Larger, heavier or structural pieces should always be installed professionally, and we can arrange installation on request.
Which adhesive should I use for a mirror?
Use a mirror adhesive specifically stated as safe for silvered backs; standard construction adhesives can attack the silvering and cause black edging over time. Adhesive alone is not suitable for large or heavy mirrors; use it alongside mechanical fixings.
Do you install?
Yes. We install throughout much of the UK, particularly for larger mirrors, balustrades, partitioning and commercial work. Ask for installation when you enquire.
How long will my order take?
Lead times depend on the product: stock and standard items [PLACEHOLDER: X–X working days], bespoke glass and mirror [PLACEHOLDER: X–X working days], toughened glass [PLACEHOLDER: X–X working days]. Lead times are quoted in working days and refer to manufacture or preparation unless otherwise stated.
Can I change or cancel my order?
For bespoke orders, contact us within two working hours of receiving your order confirmation and we’ll do our best to make changes or cancel before it reaches production. Once cutting, processing or fabrication has begun we may no longer be able to change or cancel it, but speak to us anyway.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
Please don’t fit it. Report breakage or chipping within [PLACEHOLDER: X hours] of delivery, keep the packaging and send photographs. If the piece doesn’t match your order confirmation, that’s on us and we’ll remake it.
Is a slight green tint or ripple a fault?
Some characteristics are inherent to the material rather than faults: slight green tint on standard float glass, roller wave on toughened glass, and the deliberate variation in antique mirror finishes. If you’re unsure, send a photograph and we’ll explain what you’re seeing.
Does Design With Our Guidance cost anything?
No. The enquiry is free. There’s no charge to speak with us, and nothing is ordered until you approve a quote.
Do you offer trade accounts?
Yes, for professionals and businesses in the built environment, interiors and related industries. New trade accounts normally run on a pro forma basis. Trade & Projects.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is calculated on the size, weight and destination of your order and confirmed at checkout before you pay. [PLACEHOLDER: delivery areas, cost bands and free-delivery threshold to be confirmed]
